These Days

Wow! After the school anniversary, we don't have ANY homework (Or HW that is hard). We can have fun once we get home! The school anniversary flea market was AWESOME!!! We were running, eating, and playing all day. The bad thing is we got crammed into a hot and moist gym with more than 1000 students. It was hot and all of us were sweating. My legs fell asleep and my butt hurts after standing up. (TMI, right?)

School Aniversary

           Tomorrow is my school's anniversary, so we don't have classes, but we are gonna get crammed in a gym to watch "shows". I don't know if it will be boring or not, but before that, we are gonna have a flea market, where they sell old toys, have games, and even better: FOOD! Really delicious food. There will be FOOD FOOD FOOD everywhere. Just for your information: I don't like food that much, but I don't know what to say so the best thing tomorrow is that we get to eat, play, and run all day! HOORAY!!!

Warrior Defends Bridge Against Whole Army By Himself

Nick Brick, War Reporter

ROME----       A Roman soldier, called Horatius, defended the bridge leading to Rome yesterday all alone when the Roman army was too afraid to hold off the attacking Etruscan army.

Tarquin the Proud, Rome’s mean leader, was driven out by the Romans, but Tarquin convinced the Etruscans to give him an army and take revenge on Rome. When the Etruscans pushed the Roman army to the bridge connected to Rome, the Roman army was afraid, but Horatius, a Roman soldier came and held the army back.

While Horatius held the Etruscan army back, the other Roman soldiers tried very hard to chop it down. Horatius’s friends came to help him defend the bridge. When Horatius felt the bridge gave away, he told his friends to get back. Then, he swam back to Rome as if the gods were helping him.

The Etruscans, who heard the rumors about Rome being a divine city, decided it was 

true, and afraid to anger the gods, they retreated as they kept on thinking,”How can one man 

face an army and live?” One of the soldiers said,”When the Etruscan army got to the bridge, I 

was so scared that I wet my linen undergarment, but out came Horatius, defending the bridge. Horatius saved Rome!”
